The Last Day of The Year

I did get an ear full on my last post on the other blog. Point of views from both side were expressed. I hope we all understand the feelings expressed.

So that my location is in full view, I'm in Mercedes, Texas, 78570 at the Llano Grande Lake Park and I will probably be here till the last day of February if i don't leave earlier. I posted this on the other blog and made this new blog and posted on the other blog that I would be updating this blog. Enough said.

It's simply perfect here this day and probably into next week if you go by the forecast. This is about the normal weather here and I like it. I just don't like being here by my self. I'm ready to go home but the RV can't, too cold. With water on board and in the pipes, the cost of the repairs would be unbelievable. We had to have busted pipes fixed in the early part of '06 and it was just a minor repair but is was $450 or more and took a week with the cold weather in North Texas. It's posted in the 06 blog of our travels. When this thing moves usually something breaks and the cost is at parts cost x 3 and a labor rate of $100 to $120 per hour. I am not able to do much of the work with my bad hands. The left hand now spasms and I can no longer have a grip. My right hand is about as bad but is more usable. And yes we have something broken. Not a minor fix either.

With my guest coming tomorrow I still have some work to do. Got the laundry done but need to do a bit of house work. I did go to the store yesterday and get a few things but still need some tomatoes. The next post will not be any time soon.

On the 28th came one card and one call from Shirley, thats all!

Gas here is $1.35.9 with diesel still higher. Drive safe and be careful.

Its a VERY Windy Day After

We got sustained winds of 25 with gusts to 37 and a warm 84 so far and an overnight low of 72 per the Weatherbug. All that says is its very windy. And I did go golf in it. My hat blew off and I have lost my Texas ball mark that clips to the bill of the hat. I'm going to go look tomorrow around the 13th green but I have no high hopes of finding it. $10 and tax gone. I will have to get a new marker when I find a store that sells them or when I get back home.

It was a nice day yesterday. No wind, nice temps and nothing to do but enjoy the weather. I got my cards of in the mail and two of them arrived. Don't know about the other one but I'm sure it got there. So far no cards came my way before the 25th. Lets see if any come on the 26th or 27th. My birthday is the 28th so wish me a Happy Birthday on Saturday.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERONE

And its A Cold Day Again

We had some very nice weather from the last post till last Saturday. About 10:30 am the front blew in with 15-25 mph north winds and the temp went from 72 to 58 in one very short hour. Its is now Tuesday and the temps are still in the upper 40's but suppose to rise to 65. I say suppose to as its very cloudy and if we get no or little sun it will stay very cool. But its clearing from the west so maybe we will see the sun yet.

I am suppose to golf with the mixed league at 1 pm but with the current temp of 50 and no wind on the weather bug, its a bit iffy. I am thinking about sweats and two pair of pants and my wool cap if I play. Sure makes hitting the ball difficult but we will all have the same problem, too much to wear. If I go to the club house I will wait to see if my partners show to decide if I will play or not. Tomorrow is a better day.

EDIT: it turned out to be a very nice day, temps of mid 70 and sun! Lovely and so was the golf, -3 at best ball and a tie for 3rd with two at -4 for 1st and 2nd. Was in the money last week at 3rd, $4.50, cha ching!

Not much else to say. I will be alone this year for Christmas. I could drive to my daughters house which is about 6 hours and spend the 25th and then have to drive back. Don't know if I want to do that with the hands problem. After my by-pass surgery in December of 2005, my left arm had an artery removed and with that there is some pain and with in the last six months I have a "locking" of the thumb and forfinger. and a similar problem with the lower part of the hane involving the little finger. When this happens its much the same as a charlie hourse in the legs. I have a similar problem in the right hand form the surgery even though nothing was done there. I hvae been told back then that this right hand was tied down too long and there was damage to the nerve along the underside from the elbow to the hand. Not any fun when any of this occures.

Shirley will be with her family and will make her last trip on New Years day and return the following Sunday. My turn will be to hook up the SUV and drive back to Fort Worth by the end of February, 2009. That's when my "rent" is up and I either pay more or leave. Think I will leave. The weather forcast for her time here is not available yet so I'm still hoping that we have good, warm days while she is here. We will see soon.

I want to wish to my family and all of you that read or come across this blog a Merry Christmas and a save New Year. maybe some day there really will be peace on earth and good will toward all men.

What To Post Here

Its been a long 11 days and when it comes time to post here that is a bit difficult. I golf as much as the body will allow and maybe a day more. Ouch for to much and the body does tire. Yesterday I golfed in the Men's league and shot a 45 with some nasty scores on a couple of holes. A bad hole can sure mess with the score card. A bad shot or a penalty is costly.

The weather has gone from cold per the last post to very nice to cold to very nice to cold again as of yesterday about 3:30pm. The cold front that came through the DFW area and brought them freezing drizzle and 20's came on south and brought us some upper 30's and drizzle. Yesterday the high was 83 and the forecast high for today is 48 but spring returns tomorrow with 72. You got to just love it. The Mixed league this afternoon will go without my presence. It will be much to cold for my thin blood. I have already signed up for the following week so that's done. I believe I have signed up for the following weeks Men's league too.

I got my new trial contacts Saturday and I wore them yesterday for a good 6 hours and put them on this am at 9 for my 10:15 am Dr visit. The left eye is just perfect and the right eye maybe. Still looking out of the right and comparing the two to see if I'm done with the trial set. It appears the right eye is still not quite right yet so a new trial set will be coming.

My sweety came and went and will make one more visit around the first for a few days. Then it will be my turn to go north. I will do that around the end of February and be towing the Suv as kitty and I go back home. I'm more than ready now but its much to cold to take the RV that way. So I got to wait a few more weeks then go. I will be here for Christmas and not travel during the holidays. Just getting to old to handle all that traffic.

The lawsuit should be progressing soon. I made my last comments for the last set of "funny papers" that I got. I mailed all the papers to the attorney with instructions to file at his earliest opportunity. I have found that all the lawyers in the area there are busy and have a waiting list of work to get to. When the suit is filed is up to him. I have asked for him to review my comments and to set a time for us to converse and go forward from there. I will go to his office when he needs to set down and get them, probably two lawyers, up to speed. There is about a hundred pages to review and numbers to verify prior to court. Once we go to court there will be no further attempts to settle as its too late. The price of justice will be very expensive but will worth the expensive to see the other party pay very dearly in money as well as possibily their time for their injustice.

Gas here is $1.48.9 with diesel running about a buck more. Propane was just under $37.00 for 13.2 gallons. Filled up the tank a week ago yesterday. Hope to make it last till mid Janurary.

Baby Its Cold Outside

Oh, I used that before. Well, since we have another cold front in place I guess it's ok to use it again. The temps yesterday were in the 40's to the 60's. Today it has been in the 50's, low 50's, and is forecast to get to a balmy 58. There has to be something wrong with this picture. We are in the lower Rio Grand Valley, Its not suppose to get cold here.

I have been indoors in my PJ's yesterday and will be today, kinda. I am expecting a call to get my 2nd set of trial contacts so I will have to get clothes on for that trip. There is no golf till probably Sunday afternoon. With a low of 48 forecast for tonight, the 72 high tomorrow will be around 3 pm and with any wind it will be to chilly for this thin blooded chicken.

My guest did leave last Sunday and boarded her plane at 10:30 am. She got to stay from turkey day afternoon till Sunday morning. She arrived in jeans and left the same as the weather back in Cowtown is a bit cooler, colder than here. Sunday the temp was 83 for her arrival. It it was nice for her stay. She is planning on a new years trip if she can get the time off. I say if as the city budgets are higher priority and yet to be finished so its possible that any vacations and time off could be cancelled. She has maxed out her free over time hours of 120. All the time she is putting in now is lost and not credited for time off later. Did you ask why is she working like this? Well its called a job in this economy, a paycheck to pay the bill collector, money toward a new car, plane fare to see me, and last is her retirement for her later years or its sleeping on the street cornor. Lets don't let that happen, Work, Work, Work!

Kitty and I are just surviving here. He sleeps days while I sleep nights. He spends most of the night looking out the window for critters. I did see one this morning, a small rabbit. It was making its way back across the street to the Resoca. The what? You got to go read this blog from the beginning to know what that is and if I even spelled it right. Riscoca! Hmmmmm.

Well thats about it from here. If you want pics than go to the same time in 07 or 06 when we were here. Lots of pics there. I'm done here to play golf and thats where I spend my time. When its cool or cold like this or raining I go back the the forensic accounting I have to do, its for the lawsuit. Thats what I did yesterday, will do today and hopefully can get finished tomorrow. I call it the "funny papers".

Be sure to have some fun and be carefull if your traveling. Gas and diesel are cheap now but won't stay that way.
